Kuala Lumpur, 16 June 2025 – GWM Malaysia is proud to announce the appointment of Roslan Abdullah as Chief Operating Officer, effective 16 June 2025.

Roslan brings with him over 30 years of experience in Malaysia’s automotive sector, having held senior leadership roles across national, Japanese, and international brands. His appointment signals a strong move by GWM to accelerate its strategic growth, strengthen operations, and deepen its connection with Malaysian consumers.

Roslan’s career began in finance, serving with companies such as Modenas, Isuzu HICOM Malaysia and DRB-HICOM Defence Technologies. His strong financial grounding laid the foundation for a career that would see him transition into leadership roles across key automotive organisations.

He later joined Honda Malaysia, where his impact was deeply felt. From 2009 to 2011, he served as General Manager of Finance, before returning in 2012 to take on the role of President and Chief Operating Officer — a position he held until 2019. During this period, Roslan helped steer Honda to record-breaking sales and solidified its reputation as one of Malaysia’s most trusted automotive brands.

In 2019, he moved into the national car space with DRB-HICOM and was subsequently appointed as Vice President, Sales & Marketing and CEO of Proton Edar Sdn Bhd. By January 2022, he rose to the role of Deputy CEO of PROTON, where he led numerous product launches, retail network expansions, and engagement initiatives that reshaped the brand's image. His dedication and visibility made him a familiar face among industry stakeholders and consumers alike.

Now, Roslan embarks on a new chapter with GWM Malaysia, bringing with him a legacy of leadership, transformation, and deep market insight.

“We are honoured to welcome Roslan Abdullah to the GWM family,” said Cui Anqi, Managing Director of GWM Malaysia. “His extensive background across both Japanese and national car brands, and his strategic thinking, will be instrumental as we scale our operations and introduce more innovative products to Malaysian drivers.”

Roslan’s appointment reinforces GWM Malaysia commitment to long-term growth and innovation in the Malaysian market.
